We meet again,wonderful blog readers!
I recently photographed Kimberly and Angel at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This soon-to-be wedded couple will be getting married on December 13, 2014 (that’s right 12-13-14!) in the Dominican Republic, how cool is that!
Kimberly loves photo sessions! So much so that her and her groom to be have had 6 in the past year! While visiting Angel in Arkansas, he plays for the Arkansas Naturals, she wanted to have a photo session to capture their engagement and to celebrate her birthday. You can imagine that Angel was not thrilled to have his photo taken …. again… but he was a great sport about it and the photos turned out gorgeous! They are such a striking couple and so very much in love with each other. They are planning to use these photos at their wedding in December.
Kimberly and Angel were introduced by a mutual friend at a party. Kimberly spoke about it being really funny at the time because Angel didn’t speak English yet and couldn’t understand anything she said. But, apparently they hit it off because by the end of the evening she told him she loved him in front of all their friends, who of course thought they were insane!
They have been together ever since. Angels proposal was also a funny story because when he proposed he did so in Spanish and she actually translated it wrong. She though he said this is a promise of marriage which she took to be a promise ring but it actually has a double meaning in Spanish and means engagement as well. It was 3 months into the engagement before she understood that is was engaged and not just promised.
They are very excited for their upcoming wedding as this will be the first time that both of their families have been together at the same time. When asked what advice they would give other couples looking to have an engagement portrait session, they mentioned making sure they have lots of outfits! Also to be relaxed and real with each other. Let your real personalities shine through and your love for one another.
They were specifically thrilled with Life’s Etchings Photography and rated them 10 on a scale of 1-10. They liked how they didn’t feel rushed, had lots of fun with different props and settings, and they particularly loved the custom mobile app so they always have their photos with them on the go.
I know it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding!
Kimberly and Angel’s engagement session! These two are real naturals in front of the camera. Their good looks, fabulous outfit choices, a sublime location and their genuine love for each other made this photo shoot was a truly enjoyable experience!
Here’s to many, many happy years together!
